OUR CHURCH

First Greek Evangelical Church

Is a historic church in the centre of Athens existing for more than 150 years for the good of our city. We believe in the power of the Gospel to change lives, form us into a church that welcomes and unites different people from different backgrounds. We believe in the power of the Gospel to bring flourishing, beauty and change in the neighborhoods of our city.

h

Gospel

Lost in our conflicting, individual narratives we find in the story of the love of God, culminated in the sacrifice of Christ, the Good News that give meaning, not only to our lives, but also the whole world.

Opening

The church is the church when she exist for the other. Her life and character is extrovert and embracing.

Inspiration

In a prosaic and colorless world, the church brings a creative breath in every aspect of life (work, culture, art, family, marriage, politics, society, etc.).

Relationships

Human beings are made for relationship. The church is relationships. Relationships of love, solidarity, responsibility, acceptance.

In the City

To give is the mode of being of the church. Her presence in the city brings grace consoling and subversive. The church is a catalyst for transformation and flourishing.

Homes of Hope

In the summer of 2015 our country became the gate for millions of refugees. Homes of hope is a way of serving them. We host refugees from Syria, Iraq and Iran.

Our Pastor

Giotis Kantartzis is the pastor of the First Greek Evangelical Church since 1998. He studied Sociology and Theology in Athens, Thessaloniki (Greece) and Boston (MA, USA).
